Was worried I&#8217;d not be up for it, but felt pretty darn good. FFBC did a great job with the organization and snack stations, too. Reservoir looking full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ride-events.co\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img_9063.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hustle the fast flowing decent off Calaveras\u2019 winding switchbacks and then settle into drafting teamwork along the rollers to Sunol. First stop in town for some foods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next 30 miles out to the east side of Livermore just sort of vanished&#8230; familiar roads, solid pace. Lunch stop for sandwiches was in a great spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ride-events.co\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img_9067-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ride-events.co\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img_9073-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The return loop back up the long, winding side of Calaveras was quiet, meditative. Legs still strong but feeling the effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ride-events.co\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img_9074-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ride-events.co\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img_9088-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Felt good until the steep kicks back up to the start in Fremont. Grinding up suburban roads on tired legs, the interminable wandering felt more like we were just padding some extra miles. Good ride, happy to be done<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gear notes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hunt Aerodynamicist 44\/54 wheels\u2026 These are so good to ride but that outrageous freehub buzz is f*ing incessant.
